Oil-based, water-based loose mica & pressed shadows. Along with oil-based eyeshadow primer, water-based types.

I recently used a liquid eyeshadow for the first time and let me say I learned about how not to use liquid eyeshadow.

I put on a oil wax-based eyeshadow primer but when I put the liquid shadow on top it kind of separated and moved around and never lasted. That is because the eyeshadow base I was using was water based.

We have pressed eyeshadows and loose mica powders (pigments) and are either oil/wax based and some are water-based so if you pick up a eyeshadow primer that is oil-wax based it’s not going to go well with a water-based eyeshadow and vise versa. I just recently put the 2 together and hopefully you learn from me. It’s still all in great fun.

Boxycharm Reviews

Hello beauties!. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having a great weekend. Life is so precious remember to treat others in the way you like to be treated, I promise it will go a long way.

Today I have several reviews for you, all coming from BoxyCharm. This is the only beauty subscription box I receive, I pay for it.

Tarte Pro Glow Liquid Highlighter in the shade Sparkler is SO incredibly gorgeous. It says you can use it mixed in your foundation, or on its own. There is no smell which I appriciate because just the smallest amount of fragrance will irritate my sensitive skin.

The texture is something I’ve never felt before, a gel/cream type that dries down completely in a matter of seconds so you really should work fast, dabbing it into your skin quickly. This is a versitile product that can be used all over the face in different applications and who dosent want that?!. The applicator is a very small and pointy, squeeze type which I like because if you want to place this in a very specefic place like your cupids bow the tip is small enough to get the product exactly where you want it.

The cost is 29.00 for 0.56 oz, just shy of 1 ounce and I would buy them all, if this Mama of 3 had the cash.

This next product disappointed me it’s a high-definition liquid lipstick from the brand Adesse. I have never heard of this brand in the description it says it was a luxurious creamy long-wearing liquid lipstick provides full coverage of a lipstick with the ease of a wand applicator made with Advanced polymers and intense pigments for long-lasting brilliant color and intense shine in a single sweep. This lipstick was so uncomfortable on my lips not in a drying way but it actually felt like I had something heavy on my lips, like a heavy, tacky gloppy mess. I wore it to see how long it would wear it’s smears so easily, I was actually shocked buy how easy this wore off my lips. The retail value is 24 dollars and I would never buy this lipstick.

The Browgal Insta tinted eyebrow gel has microfibers to create a natural hair look. But it says it gives a more natural-looking fill in the description. It did hold onto my hair in the front but I do not have much of a tail in my brow and this product is not made to be used on bare skin. The retail value is $22 and you do not get very much product. I remeber awhile back I tried Maybelline’s brow microfiber and it was much better.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner says it’s an award-winning pore refining mask and reduces oil from the skins surface. I loved how this felt on my skin it is cooling and relaxing. The directions say to apply a very thin layer to your blackhead prone areas. It glided nicely, completely clear, and it didn’t take much product. The retail value is $47.

Colourpop You Had Me At Hello I was pleasantly surprised by this palette, having not tried eyeshadows from Colourpop before I know!!. They are creamy to the touch, blend well, and each shade is nicely pigmented. This palette is $18.

Produts I’m using

Hello there dear, I hope you are doing well.

It’s hard for me to believe that my children go back to school next week, saying summertime flew by is an understatement; I blinked and now it’s over.

Honest to goodness all three still enjoy school.

Joshua, my oldest is going into 8th, Gabriel in 6th, Autumn in 1st.

Maybe it is because I have homeschooled them more than theyve been in public school and they were all very excited to go, hence why I made the hard desicion to go ahead and go for it, I knew it would be beneficial for them socially and would help them grow,” It takes a village”.

The picture below is showing my new haircolor, and I’m loving it!. It is from Garnier, light cool denim is the shade which showed up a bit darker than expected. I don’t know if you know this but I’ve never found a foundation, BB, or CC cream that doesnt make me look 60 years old and that is the only reason I dont wear one. It really shows that everyones skin is different from one another.

So I’ve been mixing Pearl powder with Micronized Silk powder I buy from TKB Trading and using it as a treatment because they are loaded with amino acids, minerals, antioxidants, even a bit of spf.

The thing is, is I have dry skin, possiably dehydrated as well and these powders do me no favors as far as hiding my dry patches, but I’m hoping with continued use that it may help.

On my brows I used It Cosmetics Brow Power pencil, not a favorite it does not last on skin long even if I use a powder over top. I have very little brow hairs this may adhere better to full, beautiful brows and as a bonus it claims to be loaded with skin-loving ingredients.

As for the Ice roller and Microneedle roller, I will not have a clear impression for a couple weeks as skincare takes time. I was sent these items for reviewing and I am happy to do so with no charge, I refuse to lie to you about anything.

Until next time take care of yourself, cherish your life, family, and friends.

All my best,

Xo, Amber,

For this simple look I used

2nd row, last shade which is Matte brown on lid,

3rd row, last shade which is a shimmer burgendy.

I wish the shadows were more blendable, and I wish they wouldn’t have had shades close in tone/color.

The 4th row of three shadows, with the oranges they do not look alike to the eye, but when I swatched them they looked identical the same goes for the 5th row of three shadows, almost red shades.

I did enjoy using this, and will use it many more times the shades are worth the effort of blending. ☆ Note, I did not use a primer and that is probably why blending didn’t go so well. However I wanted to see who they performed without one.

This company offers a ton of beautiful cosmetics. I also have 2 of their liquid lipsticks and oh my goodness are they great, not drying on my lips, no overly sweet smell. I cant wait to try more.

I’d never, ever take payment for a review. These products were sent to me only for my honest, unbiased opinion. This is what I love, it is therapy for my soul.

I have pictures on my Instagram account of the lipsticks and more. I’d appreciate it so much if you’d give me a follow and browse through my feed. You’ll find all of my social media accounts linked here on my blog. Please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’d love to be your friend!.

Scratch of Sweden Nail Polish Review

I was sent these polishes for reviewing purposes. I know you understand I thrive on being able to review all the beautiful things I love. I hope you know how grateful I am, and how serious I take my job. With that being said let’s get onto the review.

The formula is very nice on all 3 shades.

  • Went on smooth with and without using the pictured base/top coat
  • Was not streaky
  • No air bubbles
  • No harsh smell
  • All 3 dried within 3 min of application
  • All 3 polishes wore 6 days before chipping

I tested this polish using the base and top coat first to see how long it lasted. Then I tested without using the base and topcoat, they all wore and applied exactly the same; I do not think it is necessary to use.

** Of course I do shower every day and do dishes among other household chores that a stay at home mother of three does. I always wear gloves when I have my hands in water witch helps.

Review Carolina Castile Soap

Hello there :). Thank you for stopping by. How are you doing? I hope your year has taken off with happiness and your not worried about what the future may bring, live in your moment. I was sent 2 different scents of this soap, so sweet of the company and I am proud to do this review.

So today’s review is a multiple use product. I’ve heard several of you say this soap works great on makeup brushes.

What Is Castile Soap?
The history of Castile Soap originates from the Castile Region of Spain. Castile Soap started off to mean strictly a soap made from Olive Oil. Castile Soap has evolved to refer to any soap made from the saponification of vegetable oils.

When I read all the recommended uses for this versatile soap I was a bit shocked, I’m listing them all down below.

Castile Dish Soap: Use it in it’s concentrated form for scrubbing pots and pans in your sink. Get rid of those un-naturally colored green and blue liquid soaps and go all natural. Not only does Castile Soap do a good job of cleaning, it smells terrific and you can have peace of mind knowing that the smell is from natural essential oils, not synthetic fragrances. We recommend keeping some of our Castile Soap in a foam soap dispenser near your sink for cleaning up after cooking and/or eating.

You bet I tried this and it did not leave any sort of oily film or weird feeling on any of my dishes. I always do my dishes after we eat so I can’t say if this would get off any baked on, or fried foods that sat overnight but it cleaned well. I am getting more of this as a bonus it doesn’t dry out my hands and its supposed to actually keep your nails/hands in good condition.

Castile House Cleaner: Get a 32 oz spray bottle. Put one cup of our Castile Soap in it and then fill the rest with water. Use to clean counters, sinks, toilets, and bathtubs. Some green house cleaning companies use it as a dusting spray. For a Castile Soap dusting spray, use your spray bottle to dampen a hand towel. Then, simply wipe down surfaces that need dusting such as baseboards, ceiling fans, and blinds.

90% of all furniture items in my house is hardwood/cherry including my floors and I dusted with this everywhere and wiped down my kitchen counters I have nothing bad to say.

Castile Hand Soap: Put in a foaming soap dispenser. When I first used this I didn’t have a foam hand soap dispenser so I went and bought one. I tried to use the soap without one and it didn’t work too well in my opinion just because it seemed to just coat my hands instead of clean. Let me just say, as I was rinsing my hands they felt very weird, a feeling I’ve never felt before with any soap, almost dry/sticky but when I dried my hands they were soft and really clean.

This is also supposed to wash your hair, use as a shaving gel, and even a laundry soap.

I did not like the way the Almond soap smelled the Lavender is nice. I appreciate that they are naturally derived.

You can find the Lavender here on their home storefront

Hello lovelies,

Thank you for reading this review. Christmas is right around the corner and let me tell ya, having 3 children makes Christmas time even more special. We have been crafting our too-shies off and we love it, even my oldest, Joshua who will be 14 on the 23rd; WOW how time goes by in the blink of an eye. I am wishing you the very merriest of holiday, whichever you celebrate, for us it’s Christmas, and the safest New Years.

I’ve never heard anyone review these lipsticks I’m talking about today and I’m lucky that my husband saw these and kindly picked them up for me. They are from the brand Broadway Color and he found these 3 at our local Dollar Store for 3.00 a piece.

These lippies are smooth going on, no weird smell, very pigmented, satin finish (not matte) and lasted a surprisingly long time for a lipstick.

Please don’t just walk by these babies if you ever find them. I know they are labeled as matte lipstick and the 3 I own are not at all, cannot speak for the other shades. I quickly realized how much I had missed using a regular lipstick because lately I’ve been using stains. The fact of the matter is is that my lips need a break and lipstick is not a pain in the butt to reapply.

I am thankful for you. I’ll speak to you again soon. In the meantime take care of yourself, please don’t text and drive, life is fleeting, live fully and love wholeheartedly.

Always,

Amber.

Favorite Facial Toners

Thank you for stopping by!.

I hope you are doing wonderful if you ever want to talk, shoot me an email, okay?.

Thank you for your continued support, I am honestly grateful.

Toners are new(er) to me. Over the past 2-3 months, I have found 3 that I really….really love and have seen improvements in the overall health of my skin.

This toner improved the texture of my skin.

Willow Bark Extract-  Works as an astringent, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties. It contains salicylic acid, a BHA that is a natural exfoliant used in several acne treatments because it can help skin shed dead cells while clearing pores.

Licorice Root Extract-

Plant extract that has skin-soothing properties.

It will also improve the look of an uneven tone.

One of its components, known as glabridin, is a potent antioxidant and soothing ingredient, which is why licorice often shows up in products meant for sensitive, reddened skin.

Chamomile Extract-

Contains flavonoid and essential oil compounds, which are particularly advantageous for my sensitive skin.

Anti-inflammatory properties-due to the inhibition of histamine release, anti-free radical action, and inhibition of the superoxide radical synthesis is key.

Silk Amino Acids-

Especially useful as a skin moisturizer as it helps prevent moisture from escaping. Aside from its moisture protecting properties, silk protein also adds some protection from ultraviolet rays and helps prevent wrinkles.

Goji Berry Extract-

When used topically, goji berry can stimulate collagen and elastin production.  It is high in minerals and amino acids as well as carotenoids which help protect the skin from sun damage.   Goji berries are also very high in vitamin C which helps to brighten the skin while reducing the signs of aging.

Green Tea Extract-

A powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. May protect against free radicals, prevent sun damage and preserve the natural moisture barrier of the skin.

Ginger Root Extract-

Because it contains very potent anti-inflammatory substances called gingerols, it may decrease inflammation that can contribute to inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.

In addition, ginger is a root herb that stimulates peripheral blood flow and acts as a diaphoretic. Thus it aids the skin in eliminating toxins. This is why ginger can be an effective cleansing and healing agent for skin conditions, by promoting cleansing of the system through perspiration.

Leucidal Liquid-

Derived from radishes fermented with Leuconostoc kimchii, a lactic acid bacteria that has traditionally been used to make kimchi, this product consists of an isolated peptide that is secreted from the bacteria during the fermentation process that has been shown to have antimicrobial benefits.

4oz.~24.00 on Leaf Seed Berry

This toner from Wellspring Naturals is just as much of a gem as the last one, at a steeper price point.

0.5oz. ~7.99

2oz. ~ 19.99

Frankincense is a powerful astringent, it helps protect skin cells.

It can be used to help reduce acne blemishes, the appearance of large pores, prevent wrinkles, and it even helps lift and tighten skin to naturally slow signs of aging.

Rose oil and its hydrolate counterpart, rosewater, with its complex chemical profile of at least 275 compounds. Rose hydrosol helps restore moisture balance, calms redness and feelings of irritation, and if used over time, reduces the effects of time like facial lines and wrinkles. Use often and liberally!.

My skin looks radiant after using.

Strawberry Fruit Water-

Strawberry has great cleansing properties. They contain vitamin C, salicylic acid, antioxidants, and exfoliants, salicylic acid removes dead cells.

Ellagic acid is an antioxidant combats skin damage, when applied topically it protects the skin against the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, which are primarily responsible for skin aging.

Removes impurities and soften the skin as well as soothe allergies and other irritants and provide protection against pollution.

And impressively,  has skin lightening properties removing age spots and freckles.

Leucidal Liquid (AKA) Radish Root Extract-

This natural antimicrobial increases the shelf life of your beauty and skincare products without adding any harmful synthetic ingredients.

The ingredient is also a moisturizer and conditioner by itself.

Rose Otto Oil-

The process in which rose otto essential oil is obtained is a two-part process and is very costly compared to obtaining the absolute.

  • Steam Distilled Rose Essential Oil is known as Rose Otto.
  • Solvent Extracted Rose Oil is known as Rose Absolute.

I do not like solvent extraction because there is a solvent residue left behind, something I do not want to put on my skin.

Rose Otto, reigns supreme for maturing skin. It can absorb deep into the tissues and moisturize the skin wonderfully. You will find that dryness can be easily reduced and skin will have a smooth complexion.

Since I last had my bottle in which I finished; Wild Carrot Herbals added

  • Silver Citrate and Citric Acid

Silver Citrate is a preservative that’s marketed as a “natural” alternative. Silver citrate is a salt of silver and citric acid, where silver exists in its ionic form.

Silver citrate in the presence of citric acid (which, when sold as this preservative it’s a blend of citric acid and silver citrate) is soluble in water.

5oz.~ 25.99 Wild Carrot Herbals

Have yourself a good day, Sincerely Always

Amber.

Review, Raw Elements eco-formula lotion tube SPF 30

Hello lovelies,
I hope you are having a fantastic week so far tomorrow is Friday so, yippie!!.

I did not know I was receiving this sunscreen in the mail. Raw Elements told me they were sending me something but didn't say what it was I am not being paid to do this review.

I live in the sunshine State which is Florida. Sunscreen is a daily ritual for me and it should be for you too. My go to sunscreen is Cotz sensitive sunscreen which is 100% free of chemicals, preservatives, and oil's.

The following ingredients are listed in this order-

1. Non-nano zinc oxide 23%:
It sits on top of the skin scattering, reflecting, and absorbing UVA and UVB rays.
Zinc is the safest and most effective active sunscreen ingredient.

2. Organic sunflower seed oil:
There are three different types of sunflower seed oil.
high oleic acid
mid oleic acid
and
linoleic acid.
The difference between the three is a result of the balance between polyunsaturated and monounsaturated saturated fats.
The problem is that there is no way to find out which acid it is primarily made up of.

3. Organic hemp seed oil:
Good to use on aging skin, it is a gamma linoleic acid, which is a good choice for acne prone skin. It is good at treating inflammation, rich in antioxidants vitamins E, A, and D.

4. Organic Green and Black tea:
Black tea is known to treat razor bumps, itchy red skin because of the tannins which go to work right away and provide immediate relief. It has vitamins B-2, C, and E.
Minerals like magnesium, potassium and zinc.
Green tea reduces inflammation, soothes psoriasis and rosacea.

5. Organic coffee oil:
High in fatty acids, sterols, and vitamin E.
The issue is it doesn't say what oil the coffee was soaked in. That is a make or break decision for most people if you know how your skin reacts to certain oils.

6. Organic cocoa butter:
According to research this is highly pore clogging.

7.Natural mango butter:
High in palmitic acid which will temporarily soften the skin but tends to clog pores.

8. Organic beeswax:
According to research this will not clog the skin. It will hold it moisture in your skin and reduce dryness. High in vitamin a, and gives the product a smooth creamy texture.

9. Candelilla wax:
Extracted from Euphorbia cerifera shrub. Binds ingredients together. Rich in nutrients and is easily absorbed into the skin.

10. Rosemary oil extract:
Knowing to strengthen your capillaries and stimulate biological activity to reduce fine lines. Rich in calcium and antioxidants. It also works as a disinfectant with antibiotic properties, treats acne and lightens dark spots.
Some people say it reduces puffiness, eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.

11. Natural vitamin E:
There are two types of vitamin E, natural and unnatural.
To make the unnatural they take the natural and add an acid to it.
The unnatural name is Tocopheryl Acetate. The acetate comes about when the vitamin E is mixed with Acetic acid which is the main component of vinegar and will irritate your skin.

12. Natural iron oxides

You get a 3 ounce tube for 18.99
Hence the picture I inserted at the bottom of the post. The tube books halfway empty, it came that way!.
On their Website

So far, only two reviews have been left both saying they enjoyed this sunscreen.

I'm going to insert some pictures so you can see the texture of this. It is extremely thick and I found it impossible to fully blend into my skin.

I hope you have found this review helpful. Take care of yourself 🤗.
