I reached out to them simply because I have heard all the rage about Manuka Honey and what it can do for your skin, if it is the “real deal” Manuka Honey. I’ll give you some information.
It is very simple. Not all Manuka Honey available is the same!. Research behind Manuka honey is based on a special, unique, extra antibacterial property only found in some.
A ‘TA’ honey can simply not be compared to a genuine UMF® certified jar. (apples v pears). UMF® is a Total Quality mark for Manuka honey, so you can be confident the honey inside is true to label.
Genuine UMF® Manuka Honey complies with all five of the following criteria:
1. It has the name UMF® clearly stated on the front label.
2. It is packed into jars and labelled in New Zealand.
3. It is from a New Zealand company licensed to use the name UMF.
4. It has the UMF licensee’s name on the front label.
5. It has a rating of UMF5 or more
Now that you have a pretty good idea of what to look for, you know now to do better than I did. It is my own fault for not looking and reading more clearly about the products. I just saw the words, Manuka and squealed with excitement. Although the Face Wash and the Cream does not have the UMF® on either products, nowhere on Red Rocks Organics website do they claim to be using the real deal honey, so, that was over sighted by me. That said, I’ve been using the two for over two weeks with no breakouts or skin irritation. I am glad to have tested them out, but I will next time make sure I look into the ingredient list better. There are a host of good ingredients in this line, but, also some that are not so good. It is hard to say if I would recommend these products. I’d say no, if you want all the benefits that true Manuka honey offers which are:
Healing sore throats, digestive illnesses, like reducing acid reflux. Curing Staph infections and gingivitis, works marvelously for acne and eczema, improved wound healing, pain relief in burn patients, boosts vitality, promote energy, and has been known to improve skin tone and texture. Honestly the list goes on!.On the other hand my skin had no adverse explosions, for that I am happy. Red Rock Organics website to have a look at their products for sale.
